Brothers Water to Fairfield, Circular (from Cow Bridge car park)

View From Fairfield Summit
Beginning from Cow Bridge car park near Brothers Water, CA11 0NZ. Heading around to Deepdale.
For the Lake District, this Trek seemed to be not as well a recognised route as many but a great walk with plenty of visual appeal//interest that is certainly worth the effort!

I say effort, because, the walk is fairly long – 7 hours approx going at a fair pace!
And probably goes some way to explain, perhaps, why this isn’t a walk that is taken on so much... Particularly, because the climb up to Fairfield summit, the way we went anyway, was a steep climb, and without good grips on your boots, it can be quite a hairy, slippery climb!
Still, if you can catch a clearish, sunny day this is definitely with doing, for the beautiful scenery around and the views from the top…

I hope these photos give a little example of the beauty around on this walk, and inspire others to take up the challenge!

The Mud track

As you would expect, the paths are often quite muddy, and the grass boggy! good waterproof boots are usually essential whatever the weather!

The Steep bit!
The photo doesn't do the steepness justice. However, that my be because I was a little to scared to go too close to the edge and peer over!
