Enlightenment Stupa

 

The Enlightenment Stupa is a beautiful place set quite high up in the area of Benalmadena. Right next to it is The Mariposario (Butterfly World).

Both, I would say, are a must visit if you are in this area. They can be accessed via a hop on-hop off bus at certain times of the day for a small fee.

A little 20-30 min walk down and you will come to the Castle Colomares. It is a beautiful site but rather tricky to get to on foot from the temple. As you get within eye-shot of the Castle, the road becomes very steep and windy and is probably only really suitable for vehicles to go down as there is no real path, just road. So you have to be careful if wanting to visit up close.
